About Norman Beecher, Addiction Counsellor

Norman graduated from the world renowned Hazelden Counsellor Training programme in 1997 and has continued his professional development through numerous training courses and workshops which have included:

Relapse Prevention Training with Terence Gorski, a leader in the field of addiction.

Post Induction Therapy Training with Pia Mellody who is a pioneer in the field of treating adult clients with Childhood Trauma.

Norman has extensive experience in working with addictions and in the training and supervision of counsellors in the same area.

He has worked internationally - in Bermuda, USA and the UK and with his wife Victoria was commissioned to set up and manage a residential treatment facility in the Caribbean.

Norman uses a number of therapeutic approaches in his role as counsellor and supervisor which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt Therapy.

Underpinning all the work Norman undertakes is Person-Centred Therapy; he firmly believes that addiction is a treatable illness and will endeavour always to treat you with dignity and respect.

Norman's Professional Qualifications are:

Registered Independent Counsellor with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

National Counsellor Accreditation Certificate (NCAC) from the Federation of Drug & Alcohol Professionals (FDAP).

Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counsellor (ICADC) by the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) and the United Kingdom Professional Certification Board of Alcohol & Drug Counsellors.
